The period of changes is spread over the first two weeks of the semester. During which the registration windows are open all the time, so you can change your time system as much as you want! This is a good time to re-examine your course choices. You should go to the first lessons of the courses in order to understand the requirements, the level of difficulty, your interest in the course and more. It is also recommended to enter the “Ben Gurion General Courses” group on Facebook in order to consult and receive opinions from other students about the courses.
Our Tips:
- The registration system is your best friend for the next two weeks. During the change period, you can enter the registration system at any time and try to register for a course that you were unable to register for before or change to other hours in the time system.
- Exam schedule – during a period of changes, you should check what your upcoming exam period will look like. If, for example, you take a general course which its exam dates falls on the same day with a test of compulsory course, it is worth considering whether to take that general course or not. In addition, if there are conflicts between tests of compulsory courses within the department, you can contact the department secretary and ask to move the date of one of the tests. During the exam period it is already less simple.
- Yearly courses and your personal study plan – make sure that the course you have chosen does not conflict next semester with a mandatory course or does not affect the number of credits you must take in advanced years. It is recommended to check the structure of your degree according to the department yearbook and even consult with the departmental teaching committee if you have not found an answer.
People worth knowing
- Your departmental secretary – for any question about how things work, who should be contacted and what can be done, in most cases the departmental secretary is the address. You can find the secretary’s office in the department building and their contact information on your department’s website. In addition, a departmental teaching committee can help you with advice on building a course system for the duration of the degree. The topic is mainly addressed to those who combine departments and/or faculties.
- The academic assistance coordinators – each faculty has a coordinator who is responsible for answering all questions related to academic issues. The coordinators answer inquiries every day and are at your service during reception hours every day between 10:00-16:00 in room 161 in the student house.
