Plastic Club – working towards a quality environment on campus

Have you always cared about your environment? Did you understand that disposable utensils are not cool and harmful to the environment?

Plastic Club was established inspired by the national and global trend of zero waste and sustainability that is gaining momentum, and from the understanding that the issues of waste and environmental pollution are becoming a major problem in the world. Plastic works to promote the issue of sustainability and zero waste on campus and in student society.

As part of the club, we operate in a variety of areas including: organizing environmental events, collaborations with other organizations, lending reusable tools for free, forwarding inquiries about environmental failures at the university to the appropriate authorities, and more.

Who is it suitable for? Students from all degree years and all types of degrees.
Meetings are held every two weeks on average, drink hot tea, eat snacks and sit down to talk about environmental activism!

Green Course – Leading Activism for Environment

The largest environmental volunteer association in Israel, which promotes environmental change through activism and environmental leadership development. Green Course is a non-partisan association, which is based on thousands of students and mixed residents and includes over twenty cells throughout the country, from Be’er Sheva in the south to Tel Hai in the north. Every week there is a club meeting where the activists discuss the promotion of the annual campaign, have fun, play name-code and plan public activities.
The association’s vision: an active civil society for a healthy and just environment. Clean air, convenient and efficient public transportation used by the general public, reducing waste and increasing recycling, clean energy, responsible use of water resources, open spaces for the common good, environmental justice. Here, as all over the world, students and young people are at the forefront of promoting environmental activism. In order to realize this vision, we believe that the public must be influential and involved en masse in the environmental issue through activism.
Green Course works in a variety of ways: policy change at the national and local level, direct non-violent activity and demonstrations and development of community involvement and education for environmental activism.
Why volunteer in a green course? We invest in our activists. The activists go through seminars and trainings throughout the year such as digital training, public activity and government relations, a Passover seminar and more. The seminars and lectures are accompanied by knowledge accumulated over the years in the organization and given in the best and most interesting way to the activists. The trend has an impressive past of successes in public struggles such as the promotion of the Clean Air Law, the campaign to revive the Haifa Bay and more.
How do you join us? There are several positions such as spokesperson, government relations coordinator, digital coordinator and more that provide professional experience.
