What are the council’s committees?
The members of the council create various types of committees, such as the Academic committee, Publicity, Culture, Regulations, Welfare, Operations and Student Involvement. The committees work regularly with the Student Union departments and are responsible for setting goals for each department. The council meets regularly throughout the school year. At the meetings, various topics are raised, starting with proposed resolutions for the welfare of the students and ending with outlining policies on urgent issues such as strikes.

How can I be elected to council?
Every student who is a student union member at the university is entitled to submit their candidacy for the council elections, and every student who is an student union member is entitled to vote.
Which body mediates between the Student Union and the Council?
The Council Secretariat is the person responsible for concentrating the work and maintaining a relationship between the Student Council and the Student Union.
What have we done for you?
Here are some examples of what the Student Council has been able to do for you:
In the Cultural field:
- Opening of online ticket sales for the Student Union’s various events
- A trip by the Student Union as an alternative to the pool parties on student day for all those interested
- A separate party for religious students on Purim at the same time as a party throughout the university
- Creating training sessions for specific populations in Positive Studio (heavy weight training, training for women only)
- Production of “Economy on the Bar” events to improve economic conduct
In the Social field:
- Encouraging blood donations and establishing a system of benefits for donors
- Cancellation of the additional payment for soy milk in all university cafeterias
- Making the opening of the year and Student’s Day performances accessible to hearing-impaired students – sign language translator and transcription of the performances
- Establishment of a platform for searching for apartments under the supervision of the Student Union
- Screening of children’s films in negative
- Making information accessible to student mothers – creating a booklet that consolidates all the rights and benefits
In the Academic field:
- Accompanying the process of changing the university regulations for handling complaints about sexual harassment and improving the complainant process. Opening the possibility for accompaniment and support on behalf of the complainant. In the complaint process, preventing a meeting of colleagues and promising female representation.
- Shutting down studies for the purpose of promoting the improvement of the quality of teaching
- Improving military reserves regulations at the university – consideration of reserves service during a period of changes, reference to laboratory reports.
- Various benefits for advanced degrees, starting with M.A., upon presentation of a certificate only.
Can I join the council? Yes! Elections are held once a year, within two months of the start of school. Every student who is a student union member at the university is entitled to submit his candidacy to the council. Before applying, you must register with the student union. The candidacy is submitted to the chairman of the election committee. You must bring a passport photo, a photocopy of your student ID card, and proof of studies. Most importantly – you need to formulate a platform and propaganda material that will be printed by the election committee and with its approval.
Every student who is an student union member is entitled to vote and be elected!
